Question about Russian

Are these right? (Sorry, I don't have Cyrillic font right now, but you can use it to answer, no prob!)

8:00 vosem' chasov.
8:05 pyat' minut devyatogo.
8:30 poldebyatogo.
8:40 vez dvadtsati devyat'

In 8:05 do I need the word "minut" or can I simply say pyat' devyatogo? and if yes, what's more common?

In 8:30, can I also say polovina devyatogo? if yes, what's more common?

In 8:40 is it common to add "minut"?

And how can I answer these 4 times for vo skol'ko vremeni?

Thanks!
